MAX AND ME: A musical message of hope, love, and beauty now on Sony Masterworks

A message of hope, love, and beauty is now available on the Sony Masterworks at all digital and streaming outlets such as iTunes, Amazon, YouTube, Spotify, and others. One hundred, thirty-five of London’s finest musicians gathered at Abbey Road Studios in London to record Max and Me including one of the most expressive solo artists of our generation, concert violinist Joshua Bell.  A large symphony orchestra, the London Voices, the London boys choir Libera and numerous soloists like vocalist Clara Sanabras, boy soprano Issac London, and pianist Dave Arch all contributed performances to something that film music critics are repeatedly calling the “best score of the year.”

The animated film, to be released at a later date, tells of an older man sharing the story of Polish priest Maximilian Kolbe to an artistic and troubled teen. A deeply compassionate man, strong in faith, Kolbe confronted the Nazis until he was banished to Auschwitz. In the midst of daily torture and death, Kolbe’s words and actions were filled with hope, strength, faith, encouragement, peace and love.  He asked those around him to not be overcome with hatred but to be filled with love saying, “Only love is creative.” His compassion for others led him to sacrificially die in the Auschwitz’s starvation bunker in place of a man with children who had been randomly selected to die.  A portion of each sale will go to the Shoa Foundation, World Vision and Catholic Relief Services. We hope that this musical message of hope, love and beauty in the midst of darkness spreads widely. Max and Me is dedicated to the memory of choral master and mentor Robert Salvatore Ruberto 1932-2016.  (See full tribute here.)

Collectors have written to ask if there will be a CD release on Max and Me as there was on Dos Corazones’ The Greatest Miracle.  Sony Classical has only planned Max and Me for a digital release so the answer is no. Still we are grateful to Sony Masterworks for the release of this work at all streaming and digital download outlets around the world.  The credits and pictures that would normally be inside a CD are listed below.
