Mark McKenzie’s soundtrack for an inspiring animated film called MAX AND ME was recently recorded at Abbey Road Studios and will be released on the Sony Classical label. The film tells of a young teen mentored by a cranky old man who shares the story of St. Maximillian Kolbe. Kolbe was a Polish Catholic priest who challenged the Nazis and ultimately sacrificed his life in the Auschwitz concentration camp. The music contains deeply moving performances by concert violinist Joshua Bell, London’s finest symphonic musicians, the extraordinary London Voices, the famed LIBERA boys choir and the deeply expressive vocalist Clara Sanabras. Special thank you to Joshua Bell, Pablo Barroso, Peter Cobbin, David Lai, Claudia Nemer, Marc Perlman, Armin Steiner, Paty Garcia-Pena, Gregorio Nunez, Conductor Gordon Johnson, Choral Masters Terry Edwards, Ben Parry, the Libera boys, and Libera’s choral genius Robert Prizeman. The film and soundtrack will be released in the last half of 2016. Picture taken at Abbey Road Studio 1.
